FAQs

  • The short answer is no! Different ABA procedures are used in everyday life. For example your paycheck motivates you to go to work, which is a positive reinforcement. You use a task analysis procedure for brushing your teeth, tying your shoes, making a recipe and many more everyday tasks. There are many other examples of ABA techniques being implemented throughout everyday.

  • Different locations ABA can be done includes the school, community settings, clinic and in home. Each of these have their own pros and cons. For more in depth about this topic take a look at my video outlining the differences. Different insurance companies also have their own criteria for location services can be done.

  • ABA stands for Applied Behavioral Analysis. This works on decreasing behaviors (elopement, tantrums, screaming, etc) while increasing replacement skills. Functional communication is a large portion of what is done throughout therapy. There are different techniques that are individualized to your child along with training the caregivers to implement procedures within the home.

  • There will be a variety of different videos linked to my website. You will have access to be able to purchase individual one’s based off what you are looking for. Some will be free of charge. The ones that will be for purchase will have “homework” for you to do to help understand the concept and will need to be completed in a certain order.
